Ways to Give
The Uppingham Foundation welcomes the support of OUs, parents, grandparents and staff. Whatever your motive for giving, whether it is an acknowledgement of gratitude for your own time spent at the School, or because your child or grandchild is experiencing an enriching and enjoyable education at Uppingham, you can be assured that your donation will be spent wisely.
You may choose to donate to any area of the School's work, though it is helpful to the Headmaster and Trustees if support is targeted towards Uppingham's priorities in the coming years.
Ways to show your support
-
The School can accept gifts by credit card or cheque, made payable to ‘Uppingham School - Foundation Account'
-
To enhance your personal gifts, we suggest you sign a gift-aid form. This enables the School to enhance your gift by £25 for every £100 donated. If you are a higher rate tax-payer, you too will receive tax benefits.
-
Gifts of shares are also welcome. Under new tax rulings, donors can save up to 40% in capital gains tax and deduct the full value of the shares from income tax. The Foundation office can provide further details of this method if required.
-
The Foundation also encourages bequests to the School. A legacy to Uppingham School is free from inheritance tax. The School has established the Thring Society as a thank you to all those who have informed us of their intention to remember Uppingham in their will.
-
Gifts in kind and donations of property are also welcomed by the Foundation.
If you have any questions as to how you can support Uppingham, or where your contribution might be spent, please do not hesitate to call the Foundation Office on 01572 820617 or alternatively click here to make a donation or to donate regularly by direct debit.
