Running bug

Sarah Borland (Sa 03) confesses she wasn't the most sporty of souls at School (The Routh was daunting to put it mildly!) but, since leaving Uppingham, marathon running has become something she very much enjoys, so much so she ran the London Marathon in 2016, the Berlin Marathon in 2017 and will be running the Chicago Marathon in November this year, with the aim of completing all six World Marathon Majors.

When she ran the London Marathon she raised money for SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity, which is very close to her heart - both her dad and brother serving as officers in the Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers, and her mum has also volunteered for SSAFA for 30 years and received an MBE for her services to the charity.
